Toast sells the pastry; your inventory counts it. This page ties the two together so sales can be deducted from stock. A wrong link is worse than no link — it silently deducts the wrong product forever — so nothing here saves until you confirm it. Suggestions are shown in gold, and anything that looks like a cross-type or gluten-free mismatch is flagged red. Each store has its own Toast GUIDs, so map them both.

Sold more than one way? Toast rings a breakfast sandwich and its bread separately: the sandwich is the menu item, and the bagel you chose is an option inside its Bagel Options modifier group. So a bagel needs two links — its own menu item (bought on its own) and its bagel-option (eaten inside a sandwich) — or half of every bagel that leaves the building is never deducted. Link the first one in the dropdown as always, then use + also sold as… underneath to add the others. One Toast entry may only feed one of your items, so nothing is ever deducted twice.

Also deducts… — when one Toast sale uses several of your items

Everything above answers “whose sale is this?” — one Toast entry belongs to one of your items. This answers a different question: “what else did that sale use up?” A GF - Bacon Breakfast Sandwich rings as a single item, but it uses a GF Sandwich Bun and a Meat Pack - Bacon. Add a rule here and both come off the shelf.

Why not just link the meat option? Because “Breakfast Sandwich Meat Option (Bacon)” is the same option on the bagel, the gluten-free, the croissant and the no-bread sandwich — linking it would pull a meat pack on every breakfast sandwich sold, including the croissants, which already have the meat in them. A rule here hangs off one specific Toast item, so only that one is affected. An item used only this way needs no link of its own above.

Items in Toast's Bagels / Bread / Cookies / Muffins / Scones sections that nothing points at. Each one is either a product you don't stock-count, or an inventory item you still need to create.
